Too much summer and winter storm run-off carry excess nutrients, unwanted chemicals and sediment. The deposit in sloughs and canals or along roadsides creates expensive maintenance problems and threatens the quality of both surface and groundwater supplies.

The solution? A pond system that collects and holds run-off until it can be returned back to the field.

 

Ponds uniquely perform many diverse functions in agriculture today:
