Glycol Containment Pond
In the 1980's, with increased awareness and new regulations covering the storage of chemicals and hazardous, mine, industrial and municipal wastes, the lining business has evolved into a complex field requiring experience and training. CLI, as a manufacturer and a certified installer working with a wide variety of geomembrane materials, has been serving the containment needs of its customers with quality and service for over two decades.
Industry itself has many potential environmental impacts that can be extensive and long lasting. Strong regulation and environmental assessment will put the use of geosynthetics in the forefront of industrial planning.
There is no other single group of products with such far-reaching advantages as Geosynthetics. The technical and engineering advantages in testable, quality monitored, engineered properties versus the often difficult to verify qualities and specifications of naturally occurring materials place geosynthetics as highly accepted tools for the industrial and geoenvironmental industries.
Mining
Today's mining practices require optimal performance from containment lining systems. New processes involving the heap leach method of precious metal extraction using chemical solutions have resulted in low-cost extraction from low-grade ores.
Geomembranes perform double duty in mining operations by containing valuable solutions as well as protecting groundwater resources.
Reclamation
The reclamation of old mine sites uses geosynthetics to control water run-off during reclamation to prevent contamination of surrounding property.
Tank Lining Applications, Primary and Secondary
CLI has a proven track record in secure containment. Our trained installation technicians have extensive experience working with pre-existing and complicated piping systems.
Primary: Geomembranes can be used to provide a low permeability, high chemical resistance flexible barrier to ensure against accidental chemical spills. Liners are also used to contain chemicals and by-products produced during the processing of minerals.
Secondary: The deterioration of concrete structures and steel tanks containing potentially environmentally harmful products make geomembranes the best choice in secondary containment solutions.
