Hypalon demonstrates excellent durability against UV and Ozone exposure and resistance to a wide variety of organic and inorganic chemicals. Hypalon will retain flexibility in freeze/thaw conditions and will resist the elements better than any known material. It's resistance to oxidation and immunity to ozone and UV make it a lining choice in potable water and some industrial waste applications (that don't contain fats oils or hydrocarbons), floating covers and exposed lagoons.
Description
Hypalon is a reinforced flexible geomembrane with an exceptional
service life. It is a synthetic rubber product manufactured by the
calendar process into plies that are combined over reinforcing polyester scrim layer or layers during manufacture. Its available in up to 5 ply layers (with two reinforcing layers) making it an excellent choice for steep slopes and dam lining applications.
Fabrication
Hypalon is heat welded under controlled conditions into panels at
the CLI fabrication facility and field seamed using either heat
welding or solvent adhesives.
Hypalon is available in 36, 45 and 60 mil thicknesses and up to 90 mils by special order. CLI fabricates Hypalon in panels of up to 25,000 sf
Installation
Pre-fabricating panels allows the deployment and installation of large
quantities of liner. Field seaming uses either heat welding or a bodied solvent adhesive
(following a pre-wash) to give equally reliable results under the
varying weather conditions encountered during installation. After
installation, a surface cross-linking develops which produces a stronger,
tougher, and weather able liner.

Notes
Hypalon-based flexible membranes are used in a broad range of applications
and weather conditions and have an extremely long service life.
High performance Hypalon synthetic rubber products are available for construction and industry.
Hypalon is exceptionally resistant to oxidation and is virtually immune to ozone and UV proving it to be a suitable containment geomembrane for a large variety of industrial wastes
